A Season of Sharing, Pairing, and Culinary Adventure

Our *Share and Pair Sundays* campaign couldn’t have come at a better time. While headlines swirl with talk of tariffs and uncertainty in our already weathered industry, this campaign has become a breath of fresh air—a reminder of what brings us joy: food, wine, friendship, and gathering around the table.

Turn an ordinary dinner into a night to remember.

If you’re looking for a new spin on your next wine get-together, a themed dinner can turn an ordinary evening into a memorable night. Recently, a few of us—longtime fans of the Bruno, Chief of Police mystery series by Martin Walker—hosted a Bruno-inspired dinner after a trip to the Dordogne region of France, where the books are set. The novels blend French wine, countryside cuisine, and cozy whodunits, and we were thrilled to discover that there’s now a cookbook featuring recipes from the series. What better excuse for a gathering?

Each guest picked a recipe from the cookbook, and our host went all in, supplying berets and encouraging us to dress the part. The evening was rich with flavors, laughter, and of course, wine—both Scott Harvey Wines and a curated selection of French bottles. We had such a wonderful time that we’ve already chosen our next inspiration: Ina Garten’s classic recipes for another unforgettable themed evening.

A shared theme brings people together

There’s something magical about a themed gathering—it breaks the ice and brings people together in unexpected ways. Even when you’re surrounded by strangers, a shared theme creates an instant sense of connection. Whether it’s donning berets for a Bruno dinner or clinking glasses at a German feast, participating in a like-minded experience turns unfamiliar faces into fast friends. The bond forms faster, the laughter flows easier, and the memories last longer.

When it came time to celebrate Scott’s birthday, the theme was clear—Germany, where Scott’s winemaking journey began. We put together a hearty German feast: sausages, cucumber salad, traditional cheeses, and Scott’s legendary sauerkraut. Our Jana Riesling made a perfect pairing and a few special bottles from Scott’s cellar. For a festive flair, guests donned Bohemian-style floral headbands and Tyrolean alpine hats, bringing a playful, immersive touch to the occasion.

The 10-week Share and Pair Campaign culminating in a Turkish feast

To cap off our 10-week Share and Pair Sundays journey, we’re planning a Turkish garden feast in Sutter Creek on May 25th, prepared by Chef Sylvia Pardini of Amador Fork & Cork. Fresh off a culinary tour of Turkey, Sylvia is eager to share the dazzling flavors and unique spice combinations of Turkish cuisine with us. This finale dinner won’t just be delicious—it will be a cultural celebration, transporting us halfway across the globe with every bite and sip.

We hope these gatherings inspire you to bring creativity to your table—whether it’s dressing the part, cooking from a favorite author’s kitchen, or simply gathering friends to share stories over wine. After all, wine is more than what’s in the glass. It’s what brings us together.
